What is idli?
Idli, with its soft and spongy structure, is a breakfast product of Indian cuisine that can be made optionally using binders such as rice, rava, lentils and ragi.
How to letover idli should be storted ?
When a packet is open, or an idli is newly cooked then it is not surprise that some of them may leftover. In this case do not throw it immediately. Airtight containers or simply freezer bags will be sufficient for storage.
How to prepare the idli from 1 cup of idli mix:
1 cup of homemade idli mix flour
⅔ to ¾ cup water to make a thick flowing batter
¼ cup sour curd/dahi/yogurt
½ teaspoon fruit salt
Preparation:
1- Idli flour, water and yoghurt should be mixed thoroughly. This step must be done carefully in order to obtain a smooth dough.
2- Next, add half a teaspoon of salt. It is important to mix well at this stage as well.
3- Then it is steamed in the pan for 10-13 minutes.
4-Idli is ready to serve
